We believe Baptism is a crucial step in the life of every Jesus follower. It is an important milestone in your walk with Jesus, and we want to celebrate with you as you make this very important decision. If you’re considering baptism, please read the information below and complete the form at the bottom of the page to sign up.
Our next baptisms will take place on Easter Sunday - April 20th, 2025, during service, which begins at 10:00 AM.
Why Get Baptized?
Perhaps the easiest answer to this question is that Jesus was baptized, and he baptized others. As followers of Jesus, we will do the same. We are also commanded to baptize in Matthew 28, known at The Great Commission. “…Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” People throughout the New Testament are baptized, and being baptized is commonly associated with the gift of the Holy Spirit, a part of the Holy Trinity, who dwells in us, speaks to us, and guides us.
Historically, baptism was typically performed once a person had completed a catachism, which was a period of intense biblical training as they converted from various pagan religions to Christianity. Today, we rely on the community of the church in its various forms–preaching, worship, small groups, and serving together–to learn and grow and believers.
The step of baptism is taken after, or in conjunction with, giving your life to Jesus. It’s not something you need to wait to do until you have all of the answers. If you’ve committed to following Jesus, have surrendered to His will for your life, and are working each day to follow His commands and grow in relationship with Him, then you are ready to publicly declare your faith and be baptized.
Baptism is not the end of the journey, but it is an important step in a life that is fully devoted to Jesus.
Baptism Logistics
Baptisms will take place during Sunday service, after the worship portion has concluded. We have a heated baptismal tank that will be set up in the sanctuary. You’ll enter into the baptismal, and Pastor Isaiah will ask you a couple of questions, one of which will be “do you believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior?” Answer yes to that question, and you’ll be baptized.
You are encouraged to invite friends and family to attend your baptism, and come up along the sides of the tank to pray alongside Pastor Isaiah, and take pictures and videos.
Things to bring:
Dark colored modest shorts and a dark colored shirt that can get wet.
A change of clothes and a towel, along with a bag for your wet clothes.
Sandals or flip flops.
Friends and family.
