Pastor Isaiah Hollister
Isaiah was born and raised in Spokane. He heard God call him to ministry at a high school summer camp, and after attending the University of Washington he came back to Spokane to begin working as the High School Youth Pastor at Life Center Church, where he also served as the co-director of some of the region’s largest youth camps and conferences.
As the Lead Pastor of Christ our King, his main role is to preach the gospel and drive the vision of our church. He is passionate about living in the presence of God and living out the way of Jesus, and his relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in his life. Second to that is his family–his wife Lauren and their daughter, Zara. Isaiah is blessed with a great community of friends, and enjoys watching (and playing) basketball, movies, and collecting vintage comic books.

Executive PastorAs the executive pastor, Corey’s main role is to implement the mission of Christ Our King and oversee its day to day operations. Corey grew up in Eastern Washington and came to faith at an early age. He’s spent almost ten years as a staff member at both nondenominational and Foursquare churches as a youth pastor, discipleship pastor, and creative director. He’s also consistently served on worship and tech teams. Corey has a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from Hunter College in New York City, and has worked professionally as an urban planner in New York, Idaho, and Washington. He and his wife Kyha also own and operate a wedding photography business. In his spare time he loves watching movies, backpacking, and spending time with his wife and two boys, Winston and Artie, enjoying all that the Spokane area has to offer.

Worship & Technical DirectorGrowing up in the Foursquare denomination, Ray discovered his love for scripture and theology, supplemented by a love for music and literature. Throughout his life worship music has been a formative and moving experience, and is something he loves to share with his community. Ray has served on and led many worship and tech teams, and is graduating in 2024 from Northwest Leadership College (go NWLC!) with a bachelor’s in worship arts ministry. As Worship & Technical Director, his main role is to make worship happen—working with Isaiah and Corey to design the service plan, as well as managing and training volunteers in all musical and technical contributions to the worship service. Ray likes podcasts, classical literature, and spending time with friends at any coffee shop in the immediate vicinity.

Kids Church Director
As the Children’s Ministry Director at Christ Our King, Makayla recognizes the significant impact ministry leaders and volunteers have on children during their most formative years. She is passionate about creating a safe and nurturing environment to help lay a strong biblical foundation for a faith that will last a lifetime. She was eager to volunteer and begin investing into children, as she herself had been invested in for many years. For the past six years she has been involved in the children’s ministry at Life Center, creating and cultivating classroom environments that were filled with joy, laughter, and Jesus. Makayla is currently in cosmetology school and when she is not at the church you can most likely find her sailing, traveling, perusing target, all while drinking a Diet Coke.

Hospitality DirectorNellie grew up in the tiny South Central Washington town of Goldendale. Raised in a Christian home, she volunteered regularly at her local church before leaving the faith her junior year of high school. Moving to Spokane to pursue a degree in interior design, she rediscovered the true love of Jesus at Life Center Church in 2013 and got right back to work. As Hospitality Director, Nellie’s primary responsibility is to foster a culture of belonging at Christ Our King. She is deeply passionate about what makes people tick, and believes that making people feel welcome is paramount to the success of the church. Nellie volunteered with Life Center’s high school ministry and tech teams for many years, and works locally as a sales rep for a regional tile distributor. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband Daniel and their two cats Meg and Winnie, reading, playing video games, knitting, or listening to podcasts and audiobooks.

We began planning for Christ Our King in the Spring of 2023, and officially launched in January 2024. We began renting space for our services at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in the Audubon neighborhood. In December 2024, we were gifted a building by the incredibly generous people of City Church. We now meet at 1047 W Garland Ave., and have welcomed the people of City Church into our community.

Service is usually an hour and fifteen minutes long and includes worship, time for prayer, time for hanging out, and a message from the Bible. Our church services are laid back and informal, but we take the word of God seriously.
-
Yes, we have Kids Church for ages 0-7, and we’re currently working to expand in order to serve a wider age range. Kids ages 8 and up are invited to come to service with their parents or guardians, and we have activity packets to help keep them occupied.

Our sending church is Life Center, led for decades by Pastor Joe Wittwer, and now led by his son Michael Wittwer. Isaiah and Corey were both staff members at Life Center for about seven years, and still enjoy a great relationship with Life Center. They’ve resourced us with education, mentorship, and finances as we planted Christ Our King. Like Life Center, we are part of the Foursquare denomination, an international movement that began in the 1920’s in Los Angeles. You can read more about Foursquare and our beliefs at Christ Our King on our Beliefs page.
